A 'quintet' is a group of five people playing music or singing together. While quartets (ie. groups of four) are more common for string ensembles, many jazz bands are quintets, comprising two or more of such instruments as guitar, trumpet, saxophone, clarinet, flute, trombone and piano. Most quintets also feature one or two alternating lead vocals.
