About the Job Research Associates provide meaningful technical, administrative, and research‑related support to our seasoned team of polling strategists. In this position, you will learn the key elements of successful survey research while contributing to a wide‑array of client projects, preparing materials, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of final deliverables. Key Responsibilities Project coordination with internal departments and outside vendors Gather preliminary data and conduct background research for projects Program surveys (training provided) and test survey programming Monitor and take notes for client conference calls, focus groups and other qualitative studies Draft questions and help prepare scripts for focus groups Prepare data tables and PowerPoint decks showcasing research findings Conduct rigorous quality control checks on quantitative and qualitative data Proof data in memos, charts, graphs Work on specialized research projects as requested All positions at Hart Research Associates may be asked to provide support and assistance outside their core job function. Executing additional duties as requested is a core requirement of every job. Evening and weekend hours may be required. Overtime will be paid for more than 40 hours of work per week. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or at least 4 years of relevant training/work experience Keen eye for detail and excellent time‑management/organizational skills Strong interpersonal, writing and communication skills Strong math skills and experience working with data Interest and familiarity with Democratic politics A good listener and thoughtful reader; able to take clear, thorough notes Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) A self‑starter, able to work well both independently and collaboratively Able to work weekends/evenings (overtime pay provided) A couple of things that will put your application ahead of other candidates Coursework in computer programming, statistics and/or data analytics Working knowledge of statistical software packages (R, SPSS) Fluency in Spanish About Hart Research On the forefront of public opinion research since 1971, Hart Research is a dynamic place to work and provides a terrific training ground for those interested in a career in polling, politics, data analytics, public affairs, public relations and the media.
